Facebook recently launched the Messenger Rooms feature to take on the popular video conferencing platform Zoom and Google Meet. The feature is available for everyone and soon it will be accessible via WhatsApp allowing its users to directly have group calls with friends on Facebook. The option is already available for some beta users and is expected to roll out to a wider user base across the world very soon.
The Messenger Rooms shortcut within WhatsApp will switch you to the Messenger app or the Messenger website in your mobile or web browser. Users need to have a Facebook account to create a room that takes place outside of WhatsApp. Also, video chats in Messenger Rooms aren’t end-to-end encrypted, unlike WhatsApp video calls.
Step 1 :- Open WhatsApp Web on desktop and login by scanning the QR code.
Step 2 :- Click on the three-horizontal dots and choose Create a room option.
Step 3 :- Click Continue in Messenger on the popup. This will redirect you to the Messenger website in your browser.
Step 4 :- Login using Facebook login credentials. If asked, click on Try it button.
Step 5 :- Then, click on Create Room as (name) button.
Step 6 :- Click on Copy button, next to the room link field.
Now, share the link on the group or with anyone you want to add into the Room you’ve created.
Users can join WhatsApp Messenger Rooms both as creators as well as guests.
WhatsApp has also added another feature wherein users cannot share stickers larger than 1MB. According to a tweet by WhatsApp watchdog, WABetaInfo, "The limit is not yet uniform for Android and iOS platforms, although the general rule is 1MB per sticker."
