If you have been using Windows OS for a short time, then you would possibly know that Microsoft has been changing and improving the way it handles Licenses. Yes, we are talking about the Windows 10 Product key. It doesn’t matter whether you’re installing fresh Windows copy, or installing Windows during a Virtual Machine, you will need the product key to activate the OS.

Microsoft stores the product key in Windows Registry. Meaning, you would like to travel through registry entries to grab the retail key, which may be an advanced process. On the newest Windows 10 builds, Microsoft uses the Digital license to activate the Windows 10 OS automatically.

But, if you’re using an older build of Windows 10, then there’s no thanks to extract the product key. So, if you’re also cursed with an equivalent problem and need to get the product key on your Windows 10 PC, then follow the strategy given below.

Step 1 :- First of all, Press Windows Key to open the Windows search. you need to look for Command Prompt.

Step 2 :- You need to right-click on the "CMD" and choose "Run as administrator."

Step 3 :- On the prompt window, you need to type within the given command :-

wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

Step 4 :- The 25-digit product key will appear on the screen. you can copy the code from the prompt Window.
