Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has begun rolling out a feature for android users to allow them to share their status stories directly on Facebook Story.
Just like Instagram, WhatsApp’s status Stories let users post pictures, text and videos on your profile that disappear after 24 hours.
WhatsApp keeps refreshing the app with new features. Thanks to WhatsApp’s beta programme, we get a preview of those upcoming features long before the official roll-out.
WhatsApp earlier this year was noticed testing a new feature that allowed you to directly share status updates to Facebook. The feature is currently available to all WhatsApp users.
To get started with the new feature, you need to have the latest version of WhatsApp on your phone. After updating your WhatsApp app, here is what you need to do :-
While WhatsApp provides end-to-end encryption on the pictures posted on the status, the Facebook story does not.
The option may be only be accessed if you have Facebook for iOS, Facebook for android or Facebook lite installed on your device.
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature that makes it easier to manage muted status. The most recent beta version on android allows WhatsApp users to cover updates from contacts you have muted.
Currently, the hidden muted updates still appear in the status. The latest update, however, can help you completely ignore updates from contacts you don not wish to see.
