If you choose to receive SMS on select categories or for partially blocked registration, you can send SMS in this format START[space][preference no] to 1909.

7 preference numbers to choose from:

  • START 0 - Fully blocked.
  • START 1 - Banking, Insurance, Financial products and credit cards.
  • START 2 - Real Estate.
  • START 3 - Education.
  • START 4 - Health.
  • START 5 - Consumer goods and automobiles.
  • START 6 - Communication, Broadcasting, Entertainment and IT.
  • START 7 - Tourism and Leisure.

For instance, type START 4 to 1909, if you want to receive messages only on HEALTH. You can also include more than one preference number like START 4,6 to receive messages for more than one preference.

How To Activate DND In Vodafone

Step 1 :- Go to Vodafone DND page.

Step 2 :- Enter your name, email address (as registered with Vodafone), and Vodafone number.

Step 3 :- Under Full DND, select Yes.

Step 4 :- Enter the captcha text and click Submit.

How To Activate DND On Vodafone Via SMS Or Call

You can easily activate DND on your Vodafone number by sending an SMS or making a phone call. Follow these steps

  • Send START 0 in an SMS to 1909. This will activate Full DND on your Vodafone number.
  • If SMS is not an option, you can make a phone call to get this done. Call 1909 and follow the IVR prompts. This will activate DND.
  • It takes around a week for DND to be activated on your phone number regardless of the telco, and once DND is activated you will get fewer calls and text messages from telecom operators.


  • DND (now NCPR), can never block any of your invited communication like Bank alerts SMS, Bank communications, price ticket / on-line booking confirmations, etc.
  • Each DND (now NCPR) request takes 7 days for the method and a confirmation SMS are going to be sent to you in 24 hours.
  • There should be minimum 7 days gap between previous DND request and registration for a new request.
  • 1909 is a toll-free number, no charges applicable.
