Google’s android App return policy is simple :- if you purchase an android app or game and you are not happy with it for any reason, you can return it within 2 hours for a full refund. After that 2 hour period is up, though, you have a 48-hour window throughout that a refund request is processed by Google. After that, it is up to the app developer to decide whether or not or not you should get your money back.

For in-app purchases, while it is not easy to get a refund without the approval of the developer, You can try via the same process as with the 48-hour window.

  • Select the app or game you want to return.
  • Tap on Refund.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to get your money back and uninstall the app or game.
  • If the two hour period has already passed you won’t see a refund button; it will say Uninstall instead.

With the contact email in front of you, it is time to convince the developers to return your money. It is your decision about how to act, yet my advice is to express your discontent with the app or game and politely request the developers to refund your purchase.

What to say when you contact the developer

When you contact the developer, let them know:

  • The app you are using. Examples include "Facebook," "Clash of Clans," or "Candy Crush."
  • The issue you are having. Such as "My in-app purchase did not come through," or "the app is not working properly when I open it."
  • The response you would like. For example, mention whether you would like help fixing the issue or would like a refund for your purchase.
