YouTube Launches Its Music Streaming Service

With an aim to fight with Spotify and Amazon Music,Google has now launched YouTubes music streaming service in India with YouTube Music and YouTube Music Premium as the two contributions on offer. While YouTube Music is just a version of the original YouTube, the online streaming ad-supported platform.

YouTube Music Premium is a paid variant of YouTube Music that allows you to switch between applications, lock your phone and place it in the pocket or text while being tuned in to music, something we have all been desperately waiting for. Additionally, you can even download the music and listen to it offline.

While users will be able to stream the music for free in the ad-supported version of the application, the company is also offering paid membership with additional features such as playing songs in the background, offline downloads and an ad-free experience for $99 per month.

Additionally, at a monthly price of $129, users can gain access to YouTube Premium that will give ad-free access to millions of videos on the platform, including YouTube Originals, along with the music.

  • YouTube Music Premium will also also offers offline downloads, at a price of Rs 99 a month.
  • Interestingly, Amazon Musics subscription is also bundled with Amazon Primes at Rs 129 a month or Rs 999 a year, whereas Spotify has recently launched its service in India for Rs 119 a month.
  • Under a special introductory offer, allowing 3 months free subscription of YouTube Music Premium.

YouTube Music, through its smart search feature, offers predictive search and search through lyrics, making life simpler. On downloading the application, the home screen welcomes you with recommended music, live performances and many other categories. There’s a location-based search which springs up playlists according to where you are if you have your location sharing on.
