how to install kali linux in vmware workstation

Kali Linux is a Debian-based Linux distribution aimed at advanced Penetration Testing and Security Auditing. Kali contains several hundred tools which are geared towards various information security tasks, such as Penetration Testing, Security research, Computer Forensics and Reverse Engineering.

Here are steps to install kali linux in vmware workstation :-

Step 1.

i am using VMware workstation to install kali linux

Download Kali ISO file from here

Click on create new virtual machine

Step 2.

Choose typical and click Next .

Step 3.

Choose i will install the operating system later and click Next .

Step 4.

Choose Linux,select Desbian 8.x 64-bit and click Next .

Step 5.

Type Vitual machine name and click Next .

Step 6.

Give maximum disk size (its depend on your computer free storage) and choose virtal disk on a single storage and click Next .

Step 7.

Click on customize hardware.

Step 8.

Set disk space ( 20 GB is good enough, minimum 12 GB to work smoother ) .

Step 9.

Set Processors ( i have set 2 process in a 1 slot ,you can set according to your PC Configuration ) and i have removed printer and sound card hardware .

Step 10.

Choose ISO file from network cd/dvd

Step 11.

I haved choosed this configurations:-

Hard Drive : 50GB

Operating System : Desbian 8.x 64-bit

Memory : 4096MB

Network Adapter : NAT

Other Device : 2 CPU Cores

Step 12.

I have remove Printer and sound card because its useless for me.(Not Recommended)

Step 13.

Click on Power on this virtual machine and select Graphical Install

Step 14.

Select English and click on Continue.

Step 15.

Select English and click on Continue.

Step 16.

Step 17.

Enter the Hostname (ex. KaliLinux)

Step 18.

Not Recommended to enter anything here.

Step 19.

Enter the Password and click Continue.

Step 20.

Select Eastern and Click on Continue.
