Improve Windows XP Shutdown Speed


Most of us would like to press the power button and leave the workstation for Windows to shutdown your computer. This does not happen always. Windows XP stores a couple of values in its registry which are responsible for determining how long to wait before shutting down open applications and services once the shutdown command has been given. here is steps how to Improve Windows XP Shutdown Speed



-* : Go to Start then select Run


-* : Type Regedit and click ok


-* : Navigate to : HKEY_CURRENT_USER | Control Panel | Desktop


-* : Select WaitToKillAppTimeout


-* : Right click and select Modify


-* : Change the value to 1000


-* : Click OK


-* : Now select HungAppTimeout


-* : Right click and select Modify


-* : Change the value to 1000


-* : Click OK


-* : Now find HKEY_USERS | .DEFAULT | Control Panel | Desktop


-* : Select WaitToKillAppTimeout


-* : Right click and select Modify


-* : Change the value to 1000


-* : Click OK


-* : Go to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | System | CurrentControlSet | Control


-* : Select WaitToKillServiceTimeout


-* : Right click and select Modify


-* : Change the value to 1000


-* : Click OK
